Houthi Attack Claims on U.S. Aircraft Carrier Proven False

by A. Dimitriou

Recent claims by Yemen’s Houthi rebels of an attack on the U.S. aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Red Sea have been debunked by U.S. officials. The Houthis, aligned with Iran, have carried out multiple attacks in the region, targeting both military and commercial vessels. However, the U.S. Navy confirmed that their warships have successfully intercepted many of these threats. The Eisenhower has since repositioned to the Mediterranean, with the Theodore Roosevelt poised to assume its duties in the Middle East. Additionally, the Houthis claimed responsibility for a missile strike on the commercial ship Transworld Navigator. Despite these assertions, U.S. officials maintain that the alleged attack on the Eisenhower did not occur, underscoring the ongoing complexities and misinformation in the region’s conflict dynamics.
