Seaspan Corporation has staged an impressive resurgence in the shipbuilding sector by securing a substantial order for 27 dual-fuel vessels, with capacities ranging between 9,000 teu and 17,000 teu, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainable maritime practices.

Scheduled for delivery in 2027 and 2028 through bareboat deals, these cutting-edge ships are set to elevate Seaspan’s standing in the industry even further. As a prominent containership lessor boasting a fleet of 176 vessels, Seaspan has seen a significant boost with the addition of 41 newbuilds, fueling the current uptick in container newbuilding activities.

Industry analysts are anticipating an additional influx of 0.7m teu to be incorporated into the orderbook by the close of the year, signaling a continued growth trajectory for Seaspan and the shipping sector at large.
