Originally inaugurated in 1901, the Lloyd’s Register headquarters has long stood as a symbol of maritime excellence. The recent restoration not only preserves its architectural heritage but also transforms the space into a modern hub for maritime innovation and collaboration. Royal Endorsement of Maritime Progress
The Princess Royal’s visit underscored the building’s historical significance and its future-facing mission. She toured the premises, engaged with LR staff, and explored themes of maritime heritage and innovation. A highlight of the visit was her introduction to SHE SEES, a powerful initiative that reimagines maritime history through the lens of women, showcasing untold stories via striking portraits and collaborative storytelling. To commemorate the reopening, The Princess Royal rang the ceremonial bell and unveiled a plaque. She was also presented with a copy of the rigging and profile plan of the Royal Yacht Britannia, initially produced by John Brown & Co in 1952.
