LR signs MoU with H2Terminals and partners on UK green hydrogen

Lloyd’s Register has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H2Terminals Limited and its partners to evaluate a green hydrogen infrastructure project in the UK. This initiative includes developing an offshore island to produce and transport green hydrogen to businesses along the Thames Estuary. The project aims to integrate wind, wave, and solar energy to generate hydrogen, which will be converted to electricity and other byproducts on floating barges. This collaboration supports the UK’s low-carbon hydrogen targets and aims to attract investment to the Thames Estuary region.
