Tragic Ferry Accident in Indonesian Waters
On Wednesday, 2nd July 2025, the passenger ferry KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya tragically sank near the Indonesian island of Bali at approximately 22:56 WIB. When the incident occurred, the vessel was en route from Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi to Gilimanuk Port in Bali.

Rescue Efforts and Weather Conditions
Initial search and rescue (SAR) operations were hindered by rough sea conditions, with waves reaching up to 2.5 meters. However, the weather has since improved, allowing for intensified rescue efforts.
The SAR operation includes:
- 54 personnel from the navy, police, and rescue agencies
- Inflatable boats and a large rescue vessel from Surabaya

Government Response
